Spreading the Love at the Donald McKay School

The Donald McKay middle school girls in East Boston celebrated Valentines Day by identifying different kinds of love: Self Love, Neighborly Love (showing love to a teammate) and Appreciation-type Love (gratitude).

They did this by writing three Valentines Day cards: one to themselves, an anonymous one to a teammate, and one to an adult in their life that they feel supported by. Some wrote to teachers, some wrote to family members, and some to their coaches. They wrapped the activity by building their own bouquet to keep or give away.
