The Sadie Mauro Memorial Fund at Harlem Lacrosse directly supports Harlem Lacrosse’s Summer Program at Green Mountain Valley School in Waitsfield, VT. This overnight leadership experience gives rising 9th graders from Boston a chance to both strengthen their bonds and learn about the transition to high school, with the goal of increasing year-round high school retention. Summer opportunities like this one go beyond academics and athletics to create lifetime memories.

Supporting this program allows Sadie’s love of the game to have an impact beyond the field. Sadie experienced the power of sport, and part of her legacy is to support the positive impact sport can make in our communities. 

 

Harlem Lacrosse – Boston launched in the fall of 2016 and uses the sport of lacrosse as the foundation for its year-round enrichment, youth development, and academic support programs.

We partner with Boston Public Schools and place a male and female full-time Program Director at each site. Programs operate through all four seasons, culminating in a robust summer curriculum that includes club lacrosse, day camp, and overnight experiences.

We currently have 350 boys and girls participating across Mattapan, Dorchester, and East Boston from 5th grade to and through high school graduation.
