Summer at Cedar – Growth, Fun, and Championship Moments
This summer, Harlem Lacrosse returned to Camp Cedar with a record-breaking 230 participants and staff. It was a week that brought together students from across all five of our cities—Baltimore, Boston, Los Angeles, New York, and Philadelphia—for a powerful combination of team competition, enrichment activities, and community building.
On the Field
With more students than ever before, Cedar rolled out a new round robin format that culminated in playoffs on the final night. The energy was electric as teams battled for the top spot, and we closed the week with the Blue Girls and Green Boys hoisting the championship trophies. These competitions not only showcased athletic growth but also taught lessons in resilience, teamwork, and leadership that carry far beyond the field.
Beyond Lacrosse
The Cedar experience is about more than lacrosse—it’s about expanding horizons. Students dove into daily waterfront activities like tubing, kayaking, swimming, and even testing their courage on the high dive. A newly updated bike park offered thrilling rides over ramps and jumps, while frisbee golf quickly became a surprise favorite. These activities pushed students to step outside their comfort zones, try new things, and support one another along the way.
A Week to Remember
Cedar continues to grow as a cornerstone of Harlem Lacrosse’s summer programming, giving our students not just a chance to sharpen their lacrosse skills but also to build friendships, confidence, and a sense of belonging. With perfect weather, spirited competition, and plenty of laughter, this year’s camp was a true celebration of the Harlem Lacrosse community.
