We are thrilled to share the success of our recent Financial Literacy Workshop, hosted in collaboration with UBS and the Premier Lacrosse League! :star2:

During this impactful event, Harlem Lacrosse participants had the invaluable opportunity to learn directly from Adewale Ogunleye of UBS and PLL players Trevor Baptiste and Romar Dennis. The interactive session covered essential topics like budgeting, saving, and investing, equipping students with the knowledge to build a secure future.

Romar Dennis shared a powerful takeaway: "I wish I could go back and understand that everyone's financial situation is very unique. You can't just align yourself with someone else and think their spending habits are okay for you." Adewale Ogunleye emphasized the importance of daily financial decisions, saying, "Financial literacy is the ability to understand budgeting, personal financial management, and investing. Everyday decisions form habits, and habits have long-term effects. You can win the championships of your finances."

Adewale Ogunleye

Managing Director

Head of Sports and Entertainment

  • Wale Ogunleye leads the UBS Sports and Entertainment business for Wealth Management USA. As head of the division, Wale draws on his background as a college and professional football player to help Financial Advisors understand and address the needs of athletes and entertainers. The goal of the team is to facilitate holistic advice and planning for these high-profile individuals, and provide Financial Advisors who are focused on this segment with the resources they need to grow their business.

Trevor Baptiste

Professional Lacrosse Player - PLL - New York Atlas

New Balance Athlete

  • Trevor Baptiste is a professional lacrosse player who plays as a face-off specialist for the Atlas Lacrosse Club of the Premier Lacrosse League and the San Diego Seals of the National Lacrosse League.

    Baptiste is a Denville, New Jersey native and attended Morristown-Beard School. While playing at the University of Denver, Baptiste was a 4x First Team All-American, a 2x Tewaaraton Finalist and helped lead the Pioneers to a National Championship in 2015. The faceoff man was also a member of the 2018 Team USA Gold Medal team.

Romar Dennis

Professional Lacrosse Player - PLL - California Redwoods

Harlem Lacrosse - LA Advisory Board Member

  • Dennis is a Huntingtown, Maryland native where he attended St. Mary's Ryken High School. While playing at Loyola, Dennis earned All-Patriot League Second Team honors and 2x Patriot League Academic Honor Roll recognition.

    Romar also serves as a member of the Harlem Lacrosse - Los Angeles Advisory Board.
