Harlem Lacrosse is a sports-based youth services organization whose year-round, school-based model breaks the cycle of poverty by providing wrap-around programming in a safe, structured environment that includes daily study halls, mentoring, push-in academic support and tutoring, admissions counseling, leadership training, career exploration, college trips and lacrosse. At the center of our model is the Program Director, a full-time Harlem Lacrosse employee who is embedded in our host schools. The Program Director acts as a tutor, mentor, counselor and advocate for students, filling gaps left by limited school resources and providing critical individualized support.
