THANK YOU to our 2024 Harlem Lacrosse
NYC Marathon Team!

Collectively, we raised $78,271.70!!

About

Harlem Lacrosse is a sports-based youth development organization that supports students through educational coaching, lacrosse instruction and competition, social-emotional enrichment, and post-secondary pathing services. We work with over 1,200 students across our five regions daily and year-round. We believe in depth over breadth, and play the long game!

At the center of our model is the Program Director, a full-time Harlem Lacrosse employee who is embedded in our host schools. The Program Director acts as a coach, mentor, counselor and advocate for students, filling gaps left by limited school resources and providing critical individualized interventions and support.

I am running the 2024 NYC Marathon on behalf of Harlem Lacrosse because I think it is an outstanding organization that changes the lives of at-risk middle and high school students. I have personally been involved with Harlem Lacrosse for over 10 years and have witnessed many transformational outcomes for their students. I’m looking forward to my second time running the marathon for HL!

Harlem Lacrosse’s unwavering mission to work towards a more equitable world is the reason I want to run and bring awareness to this positive vision. It is an opportunity to advance the growth of the program and enable more youth to gain access to the same opportunities that I was fortunate enough to experience growing up.

My mission in life has always been to help people, so to have the opportunity to raise money for an organization that helps young individuals reach their full potential is such a gift! I believe every child deserves to be set up for success and let their inner sparkle shine, and it's so awesome to see teams like Harlem Lacrosse make those dreams become a reality. I am running on behalf of Harlem Lacrosse to show these kids that even in the hardest of circumstances, you can do anything you put your mind to!

I’m incredibly excited to run the New York Marathon in support of Harlem Lacrosse this November. My experiences as an Eagle Scout and former lacrosse player have shown me that cultivating leadership and teamwork skills in young people is transformative for their confidence and outlook. I strongly believe Harlem Lacrosse creates these transformative experiences for the youth they serve, and I am proud to represent and support Harlem Lacrosse's mission, staff, and students! Can't wait for race day!

We are thrilled to be running on behalf of Harlem Lacrosse in the 2024 NYC Marathon! Harlem Lacrosse's mission "to provide opportunities, relationships, and experiences that activate the skills and traits to put youth on a path to success as students, athletes, and citizens" is one that rings true to each of us. Having grown up around the sport and benefitted from the opportunities and skills the game has taught us. Secondly, it is an amazing gift to be able to run together as siblings for the first time! We look forward to being able to contribute back to the growth and impact of Harlem Lacrosse.

I'm running for Harlem Lacrosse because of how much their mission resonates with me. The sport of Lacrosse and the surrounding communities within lacrosse has enriched my life from age 5 to current day and I'm so thankful for that. Harlem Lacrosse represents what what is so meaningful to provide to everyone in life: opportunities, relationships, guidance and activate all of that as someone comes of age both on and off the field and that is why I am running for Harlem Lacrosse.

I want to run on behalf of Harlem Lacrosse as a means of growing the sport as a conduit for growing student-athletes to find structure, balance, and inspiration to reach their full potential. I've forged some of my greatest friendships and memories through the sport of lacrosse and hope to make that opportunity more readily available for the youth of our nation. I am honored to be a small part of a much larger effort to make this world a better place through the wonderful sport of lacrosse!

Why I want to run for Harlem Lacrosse is because I believe in the organization’s mission. A mission that includes providing a safe space for children to learn invaluable life lessons, while being exposed to educational and networking opportunities that otherwise may not be available in our under-resourced communities.

As someone who has been fortunate enough to play lacrosse at the collegiate level, I am eternally grateful for the positive impact that the sport has had on my life. Lacrosse has helped to open countless doors for me, and I could not think of a more motivating cause than to run the NYC marathon on behalf of Harlem Lacrosse, an organization that strives to utilize the sport to provide opportunities, relationships, and experiences that help kids realize and reach their full potential

I am thrilled and honored to represent Harlem Lacrosse in the 2024 New York City Marathon. The organization focuses on more than just athletics and takes a holistic approach to helping students build confidence on both the field and in the classroom. I am excited to raise awareness and funds for an organization that has helped its students maintain a 100.0% on-time middle school graduation rate and earn over $40.0+ million in scholarship funds to independent schools and colleges.

My name is Kirsten Scutaro and I’m thrilled to be running the 2024 NYC Marathon on behalf of the Harlem Lacrosse, an organization that does incredible work to offer youths the necessary tools to flourish in a safe and dependable environment, focusing on developmental and educational, and of course instilling the importance of physical activity and structure. Donating to the Harlem Lacrosse Organization would help amplify the great work the foundation is already doing and give more children the opportunity to pave a successful life path.
