Harlem Lacrosse Alum Shine In College

Success for our student-athletes does not end when they graduate HS. Harlem Lacrosse’s goal for our youth is to see long-term goals realized and sustained. Their achievements go beyond what they accomplish in the program and we would like to celebrate those achievements.

Harlem Lacrosse student-athletes work hard on and off the field, that’s what makes them so remarkable. With drive, determination, and community support, they can break through any barrier. Through academics and lacrosse, Harlem Lacrosse student-athletes are able to pave a way not only for themselves, but for those who come after them.

Their efforts and endeavors have broadened their horizons and given them opportunities they otherwise may not have had because of societal and economic barriers. Harlem Lacrosse student-athletes have proven their dedication to academics and sport by committing countless hours in the classroom and on the field. 44 of HL 2021 seniors have continued both their academic and athletic careers at a university or college. Many of them choose to pursue a lacrosse career, while others have chosen football, basketball, track, wrestling, amongst other sports. Harlem Lacrosse will always support and strive to create an enduring community for our Alum to come back to for whatever they may need. These young men and women deserve a huge round of applause and we cannot wait to see what else they accomplish.

“Harlem Lacrosse has impacted me a lot by showing me there's more to life and what I am capable of than I ever know. With Harlem lacrosse in my life I have grown as a person, a player, a family member, and a friend. Without Harlem Lacrosse I would not be where I am today and starting as a D-Mid for the Sage men's Lacrosse Team here in Albany.” -Akili, sophomore playing lacrosse at Russell Sage College
