P.S. 149 Girls Program Continues Partnership with Mendham High School

On Wednesday, April 1st, 23 girls from the Mendham (NJ) High School Varisty Lacrosse team came out to visit the Truth Tigers on our home turf up on 117th Street.  Varsity players ran a practice that included agility drills, refinement of wall ball skills, shooting practice, and of course a lot of competition!  Afterwards, the girls spent time together in the school eating some snacks and learning about each other's lives as student-athletes.

The fun continued when Mendham brought us out on Saturday, April 11th to watch their home game against rivals, Chatam High School.  HLL girls made signs, cheered loudly, and had the opportunity to watch a high-level high school game.  After eating lunch and getting a tour of the field house and locker rooms at Mendham, the varisty and JV teams were generous enough to host a mini clinic so our girls from Harlem could get out on the field themselves and play some lax on a gorgeous spring day.  This generosity continued to an extremely generous gear drive that brought in much needed gear for the Truth Tigers.

Many thanks to Mendham head coach Lauren Yee, and parents Ann Horan and Jane Ikeda, for making these special events possible!
