HLL Partners with PLG Consulting to Bring Career Panel to Truth

On February 11, Harlem Lacrosse and Leadership teamed up with PLG Consulting to bring a Professional Career Panel to PS/MS - 149 The Sojourner Truth School ("Truth"). Organized by Truth Program Director Adam Daroff and HLL volunteer/PLG Consulting Founder & CEO Nkrmuah Pierre, the panel was wildly successful. Twenty Truth boys attended and actively participated in the session with four distinguished panelists. The panelists were: Lailany Sierra of IgnitionOne, Entrepreneur/Consultant/Public Speaker Kwame Jackson, Ken Miles of SHRED Brands, and Jena Burgess of Coach Jen B. LLC.

Two of the participants, Mr. Pierre and Mr. Miles, were college lacrosse players and that gave the boys the opportunity to discuss how lacrosse had made a significant difference in their lives. Each panelist had a unique perspective to present and the boys were eager to participate in the question and answer session after the panelist presentations. The boys asked the panelists about how they overcame challenged that they faced, what steps they took to become entrepreneurs, and how they discovered their passion for their respective fields. After the formal proceedings finished, the boys posed for a picture with the panelists and then broke into smaller groups to ask more questions and engage in lighter discussion.

Overall, it was a fantastic experience for all who participated and was a great way to kick-off the 2015 HLL Spring season for the Truth boys. We would like to once again thank the panelists for their time, as the boys benefited tremendously from the advice and guidance given during the panel.
