FDA Boys and Girls Visit Albany Medical College, Watch Thompson Trio Take on Siena

On Tuesday, April 22nd,  members of HLL FDA boys and girls lacrosse team traveled to Albany, NY to visit Albany Medical College. After having a nice lunch, the students were given a tour of the hospital's state-of-the-art simulation center where they were shown how the AMC students learn on high-tech mannequins and surgical teaching tools. HLL's students got the chance to visit with the hospital's respiratory therapists and to take a tour of the medical school campus led a second-year medical student.

After the visit to the medical campus and dinner in downtown Albany, the group made their way to Fallon Field at SUNY Albany for a Division 1 college lacrosse game where the #17 ranked Albany Great Danes hosted #27 Siena College. Our students were amazed by the attacking prowess of the Thompson trio of attackmen who helped Albany to a 19-11 victory.

By the time students arrived back at their homes, they had gained a unique perspective into what a future with higher education can offer and are now excited to get back into the classroom and re-invest themselves in the sciences.

Thank you to Veronica Fitzgerald of the Albany Medical Center Foundation, HLL Senior Board Member Evan Vosburgh, Siena Men's Lacrosse Coach John Svec and the Albany Medical College students for making the day so special and rewarding!
