HL-Boston Middle School Girls Attend Collegiate Game Day

On Saturday, March 9th, an unforgettable event unfolded as the girls' lacrosse teams from Tech Boston and Mildred Ave Middle School were treated to the full college lacrosse experience at the Boston University versus Brown University game in Rhode Island. This day was not just about witnessing a thrilling match; it was about immersing themselves in the world of collegiate lacrosse, soaking in every moment and learning valuable lessons that extended far beyond the field.

The excitement began as the girls stepped onto the field for the starting lineup, their faces illuminated with anticipation and wonder. Surrounded by the energy of enthusiastic fans and skilled athletes, there is nothing that beats a game day atmosphere. Little did they know, the day held even more surprises in store for them.

As the game progressed, the girls were captivated by the skill and determination displayed by both teams. However, it was a moment of sheer inspiration when Harlem alum Mariama Camara scored her first career goal playing for Brown. Witnessing her accomplishment firsthand served as a powerful reminder of the future successes that await our current participants.

The experience didn't end with the final whistle. After the game, the Tech and Mildred girls had the incredible opportunity to interact with the players, passing the ball around and receiving autographs. These moments of connection and camaraderie left an indelible mark on the girls, instilling in them a deeper appreciation for the sport and the community it fosters.

More than just a day of entertainment, this outing provided the girls with valuable insights and lessons that will stay with them for years to come. They left with not only a heightened lacrosse IQ but also a renewed sense of motivation to improve their skills and pursue their passions with dedication and resilience.

Reflecting on their experience, the girls undoubtedly walked away with more than just memories; they gained core experiences that will shape their journeys both on and off the field. In the end, it wasn't just a lacrosse game—it was an opportunity for these young girls to dream bigger, aim higher, and believe in themselves. For that, the impact of this day will be felt far beyond the confines of the field, inspiring them to embrace every challenge with courage and enthusiasm.
