2020 High School Expansion

In 2019, Harlem Lacrosse developed a strategic plan to guide us through the next three years. Reflecting on the first decade of our operations, it was abundantly clear that our impact was amplified by long-term engagement. The top priority that emerged in the plan was establishing opportunities for all Harlem Lacrosse participants to continue their connection with us in high school.

Fittingly, the first high school pilot took place at Frederick Douglass Academy in New York, the site of our first-ever Harlem Lacrosse program. This fall, we opened our fifth and sixth high school programs, now running formal high school programming for both boys and girls in New York, Baltimore and Boston.

Veteran program director Lantz Carter is founding the ACCE High School Boys program in Baltimore, and Brigid Hurley, a long-time HL volunteer and former MetroLacrosse girls high school coach, will head up the TechBoston Academy and Multisite Girls program in Boston.
