Oumou Doumbia to participate in Internship at Englewood Health
For two weeks this summer, PS 76 Alumna and current Berkshire School student, Oumou Doumbia will participate in an internship at Englewood Health, a leading provider of high-quality, comprehensive, and humanistic care.
The first week of her internship she will have the opportunity to shadow various medical professionals that are active in their clinical areas of interest. For the second week of her internship she will participate in a clinical observation of Harlem Lacrosse Advisory Board member, Dr. Joseph DeGregorio.
“Being able to volunteer at Englewood Hospital is an amazing opportunity because I’ll be able to experience firsthand what it means to be working in the medical field and figure out for myself whether it is a career path I want to continue to pursue in the future. As of now, my dream career is to become a nurse practitioner, and being in the hospital surrounded by them will prove to be beneficial to my understanding of the tasks they carry out. I think that this internship opportunity is a first milestone in getting familiar with the medical environment and will definitely be helpful in the future.”
