P.S. 76 Girls Overnight Trip to Western Maryland!

For the third year in a row, the girls of PS 76 spent their Spring Break in Western Maryland for an experience packed full of lacrosse, enrichment, and lots of farm animals!

The weekend started with a trip to the Altomare farm where they got the chance to experience farm life with baby goats, pigs, and horses to play with!

On Saturday, the girls enjoyed an amazing clinic run by the Frederick Community College Athletics Women's lacrosse team, followed up by lots of dancing and pizza.

Saturday continued with a trip to the Catoctin Wildlife Preserve and Zoo. Not only did the girls get to experience the animals at the zoo, but they also got the opportunity to experience a wild safari ride! They got up close and personal with Bison, Camels, Antelope, and Zebras. They learned a lot about these amazing animals, even getting to hand feed them!

A busy Saturday culminated in an amazing dinner put together by Chuck and Jackie Staley of JB Seafood. The girls got to reminisce about their amazing day over a delicious spread of the best seafood in Maryland!

The trip wrapped on Sunday with a visit to see the George Mason University Women's Lacrosse team take on Duquesne in an A10 matchup. The girls even got to stand on the field with the team for the national anthem! Afterwards, head coach Jessy Morgan spoke with HLers on what it takes to not only be a D1 collegiate athlete - but also a D1 collegiate coach.

This weekend would not have been possible without the amazing generosity and hard work of Dan and Cathy Altomare, Kim Lenta of FCC, Chuck and Jackie Staley of JB Seafood, and Jessy Morgan and the coaching staff at George Mason. A special shoutout to all of our amazing host families as well! Thank you for welcoming our girls with open arms and making this year's trip the best one yet!
