TechBoston and Tufts Unite for Holiday Celebration

On Wednesday, December 14th, the TechBoston Bears and the Tufts University Jumbos got together to celebrate the holiday season in style. The Bears arrived at the The Hill after a quick journey up the red line and a shuttle ride to campus on "The Joey," after which both teams convened in the multipurpose room inside the Steve Tisch Sports and Fitness and Center.

After introductions, a Tufts mentor paired with a Bear mentee for a highly productive study session. The room was filled with math problems, reading comprehension passages, and Ancient Egypt exam studying. One HLer even helped her Jumbo mentor remember PEMDAS, the acronym for math's order of operations. The one-to-one Jumbo to Bear ratio made for a personalized and impactful experience.

After studying and snacks, the players were split into five groups for a gingerbread house making competition. Teamwork at its finest! Creative juices were flowing as the houses ranged from traditional versions to a "Christmas in Hawaii" version and everything in between. Each group presented their gingerbread house and a cheer-o-meter was used to declare a winner. The day ended in typical Harlem Lacrosse fashion with a dance party.

We want to send a huge thank you to Tufts Head Coach Courtney Farrell for hosting a terrific visit and to the Tufts University Women's Lacrosse Team for spending an afternoon during a stressful finals week with us. It was the perfect way to roll into the holiday season and we cannot wait to continue the growth of this partnership in the spring!
