FDA Girls Volunteer at St. Mary's Manhattanville

The FDA Girls spent Saturday, May 9th volunteering in a food pantry at St Mary’s Episcopal Church of Harlem. The Lions began at noon and formed assembly line stations where they made sandwiches and placed them in bags along with fruit, soup, and a drink. The girls worked as a team and packed 80 lunches within an hour!

Afterwards, St Mary’s Food Program Coordinator Janet Dorman spoke more in-depth about homelessness to our girls, followed by a guest speaker named Amy, who explained the services provide by her organization, Free Medical Clinic. The girls concluded the day by handing out bagged lunches to the homeless around East Harlem.
