SCROLL TO LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR IMPACT IN BOSTON !
Our mission is to provide opportunities, relationships, and experiences that activate the skills and traits necessary to create individual pathways to success. Since expanding to Boston in 2016 Harlem Lacrosse has been using the power of sport as the foundation for year-round youth development.
The Harlem Lacrosse model revolves around the full time Program Directors who are placed within each of our partner schools. These program directors facilitate the athletic, enrichment, and academic support programs from week to week during the academic year and manage our day camp and overnight experiences throughout the summer.
Long Term outcomes require long term investment
Since 2020 Harlem Lacrosse - Boston has graduated 49 seniors:
100% graduated with a post-secondary plan and 94% enrolled in high education.
More than half have been the first person in their family to attend college.
This spring there are 13 seniors enrolling in college this year, with 10 pursuing college lacrosse.
increasing HIGH SCHOOL access, ENGAGEMENT, AND RETENTION
This fall we added to our existing high school programming by establishing girls and boys teams at TechBoston Academy High School in Dorchester.
We have our largest freshman class in history this year, totaling 40 active boys and girls.
Summer youth employment
Many Boston teenagers are forced to sacrifice traditional camp experiences in order to hold summer jobs. Our goal is to provide meaningful employment and an age appropriate camp experience through our Counselor-in-Training Program.
Building on our success from last year, our goal this summer is to offer employment to over 75 of our current high school students and alumni, paying out $240,000 in hourly wages.
Raising the Recruiting Bar: Harlem Lacrosse National Team
Building on the success of our first national girls initiative in 2021, we added a boys national team at the JV and Varsity level in 2022.
The National Team experience includes an overnight training camp, participation in national and regional tournaments, and recruiting showcases.
This year we have the largest roster of participants invited to tryouts, with 45 high school students (28 boys and 17 girls) representing Boston.
Independent Boarding School Admissions
Boston has 26 students currently attending Independent Schools across nine states.
Five additional students are enrolled for the upcoming academic year
