Chief Executive Officer
Before joining Harlem Lacrosse, Mike co-founded City Lacrosse in Los Angeles with Doc O'Connor, the current CEO of the Madison Square Garden Company. Prior to founding City Lacrosse, Mike served as the CEO of Boston-based MetroLacrosse, where he worked from 2008 through 2014. Mike holds a B.A from Brown University and a M. Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction from Boston College's Lynch School of Education. During Mike's successful playing career he earned All-American honors twice while a student at Brown and won two Major League Lacrosse championships during his seven-year professional career.
Director of Advancement
Joel graduated from Haverford College, where he earned All-American honors as a member of the Men's Lacrosse team. Following graduation, Joel worked for the 2008 Obama campaign in North Carolina and as a government affairs officer at George Mason University. Joel has written for US Lacrosse Magazine and coached various club lacrosse teams, camps, and high school teams in the Washington D.C. metro area. From 2013-2015, Joel served as the Boys Program Director at Frederick Douglass Academy before becoming Harlem Lacrosse’s Director of Advancement.
Director of Development and Curriculum Design
Kim graduated from Brown University with a B.A. in Educational Studies and earned her Ed.M. from Harvard Graduate School of Education. Kim has served as the Director of the University of Chicago Laboratory High School's Community Learning Program, worked as a middle school English and History teacher and curriculum designer in Harlem, Washington Heights, and the Bronx. She has published research on child and family policy and educational reform as a member of Demos, a public policy think tank in London. Kim joined Harlem Lacrosse in 2013.
Senior Program Director, Promise Academy II Boys
Jacques was born and grew up in East Harlem with his older brother and mother. He graduated from Skidmore College with a B.A. in History and a minor in business. While at Skidmore, Jacques received All-American and Most Valuable Player honors. Jacques has led the Harlem Lacrose Promise Academy II program since 2014.
Senior Program Director, P.S. 76 A. Philip Randolph Boys
Spencer hails from Baltimore and graduated from Denison University with honors in History and Spanish. While at Denison, he was a captain of the Men’s Lacrosse Team and named a Scholar All-American. After college, Spencer coached abroad as a Local Development Officer for the English Lacrosse Association. Spencer joined Harlem Lacrosse in 2014.
Owen Van Arsdale
Senior Program Director, Frederick Douglass Academy Boys
Born and raised in Charlottesville, VA, Owen was team captain of the University of Virginia Men's Lacrosse Team, where he graduated with a B.S. in 2014 and earned his M.Ed. in Higher Education Administration. Owen was selected for the ACC All-Academic Team from 2012-2014 and the University of Virginia Honor Roll for all eight of his undergraduate semesters. He joined Harlem Lacrosse in 2015.
Senior Program Director, P.S. 76 A. Philip Randolph Girls
Brittain grew up in Wolfsville, MD and graduated from Hofstra University with a dual major in Early and Elementary Education with a concentration in Linguistics. Brittain is Hofstra Women's Lacrosse's all-time leading scorer. She was a First Team All CAA selection in 2013, 2014, and 2015. She was the 2015 CAA Player of the Year, and Hofstra's 2015 Female Student Athlete of the Year. She was also a 2015 Division 1 All American. A recipient of the 2014 Colonial Athletic Association Commissioner's Academic Award, and included on the Dean's List in 2013 and 2014. Brittain joined Harlem Lacrosse in 2015.
Program Director, P.S. 149 the Sojourner Truth School Boys
Richie graduate from Siena College with a B.A. in History. In addition to being a Presidential Scholar, while at Siena he was a two-time captain of the Men’s Lacrosse Team. During his playing career, he earned All-American, All-MAAC Confernce, and MAAC Player of the Year Honors. Richie joined Harlem Lacrosse as a Coach Across America Member and Program Coordinator following graduation, and became a Harlem Lacrosse Program Director in 2016.
Program Director, Frederick Douglass Academy Girls
Natasha represented her nation as a member of Team Canada and is a graduate of The Ohio State University, where she was a member of the Women’s Varsity Lacrosse Team. Following graduation, Natasha pursued her passion for coaching and mentoring as a teacher and lacrosse coach at Everest Academy before joining Harlem Lacrosse as the Frederick Douglass Academy I Girls Program Director in 2016.
Program Director, P.S. 149 the Sojourner Truth School Girls
Christine earned both her B.S. in Health Science and her M.S. in Community and Trauma Counseling at Philadelphia University, where she was a member of both the Women’s Varsity Rowing and Lacrosse teams. Prior to joining Harlem Lacrosse, Christine worked with children and families at Northeast Treatment Center and the Renfrew Center of Southern New Jersey. Christine became the Girls Program Director at P.S. 149 the Sojourner Truth School in 2016.
Senior Program Director, Commodore John Rodgers Girls
Jenny graduated from The College of William and Mary, where she was a Sharpe Scholar and studied Psychology and History. Jenny was captain of the Women’s Lacrosse Team and a four-time winner of the Colonial Athletic Association Commissioner's Academic Award. Before joining Harlem Lacrosse, Jenny was a member of the Baltimore City Teaching Residency, where she earned a Maryland Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education and Special Education. Jenny taught Elementary and Special Education for two years at The Historic Samuel Coleridge Taylor Elementary School in Baltimore City, where she was an Instructional Team Leader and member of the Positive Behavior Intervention System Team. Jenny was has led Harlem Lacrosse’s Commodore John Rodgers Girls Program since 2014.
Program Director, Young Achievers Science and Math Pilot School
Adrian graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in Sports Management and earned his M.A. in Teaching at Marian University. While at Michigan, Adrian was the Head Manager of the University of Michigan Football Team. Adrian became a Teach for America Corps Member following graduation, teaching Algebra at Thomas Carr Howe High School in Indianapolis, where he was awarded the New Educator of the Year Award in his first year and promoted to the school’s Leadership Team. Adrian joined Harlem Lacrosse in 2016.
Program Director, TechBoston Academy
Eliza graduated Summa Cum Laude from Tufts University with a B.A. in Psychology. A member of the Tufts Women’s Lacrosse Team, Eliza earned both IWLCA Academic Honor Roll and NESCAC All-Academic honors during her career. Following graduatation, Eliza worked in the Tufts and Harvard University Athletic Departments before joining Harlem Lacrosse as a Coach Across America Member in 2015. Eliza became a Harlem Lacrosse Girls Program Director in 2016.
