Harlem Lacrosse visits Washington, D.C.

The girls of the Sojourner Truth and Frederick Douglass Academy programs headed south to Washington D.C. for a weekend of enrichment, sisterhood and lacrosse.

The trip started with a visit to Howard University where the girls were able to participate in a lacrosse clinic and experience at one of the nation's preeminent HBCUs. A practice at the Landon School with our Harlem Lacrosse - Baltimore program followed as the two groups mixed teams, enjoyed a clinic and scrimmaged on the field. The teams also visited Episcopal High School in Alexandria, Va. where they were able to connect with Harlem Lacrosse alumni, school staff and the Honorable Tamara Ashford who spoke about working as an appointed judge on the United States Tax Court. The girls then spent the day enjoying the Georgetown-Penn game on the Hilltop!

The final day was one of reflection as they visited the monuments, White House, and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum

Thank you to everyone who donated and volunteered to make the trip an astounding success.
